B.Design Overview

Bachelor of Design (B Des) or BDesign is an established degree in the design field at the undergraduate level. B.Des degree is a full-time four-year course offered in various specialisations such as Fashion Designing, Interior Designing, Accessory Designing, Textile Designing, and much more.

The program duration is typically 4 years, although it may vary from one institute to another.

B.Design Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for admission is typically 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate score of 50% in relevant subjects.

Passing Class 12 in any stream: You are eligible to take admission to a BDes course if you have graduated high school from a recognized educational board, through direct admission to colleges, or through various entrances and counselling afterward.

Diploma in Design: You can pursue BDes if you have completed your diploma course in design recognized by AICTE. The candidates in this case must have passed the entrance examination.

B.Design selection criteria 

The selection criteria may vary from one institute to another, but typically includes an entrance exam followed by a personal interview and portfolio review.

Some of the popular entrance exams for B.Design include NID DAT, UCEED, CEED, etc.

B.Design Admission Process

BDes Admission is done through entrance examinations like AIEED, SEED, DAT, etc in various government and private universities across India. 

The candidates are required to visit the website of the entrance examination boards and register themselves. 

After registering, they are required to fill up the application form and upload the various documents in the required format.

The candidates are required to pay their application fee and take out a receipt of the application form.

The candidates are required to download their admit card and appear for the entrance exam. 

Apart from BDes entrance exams, rounds like Personal Interview and Portfolio Presentation are some of the important BDes admission requirements. 

Minimum age limit is 20 years and 23 years for BDes admission in institutions like NID and NIFT respectively.

The admission process for BDes course starts usually from the month of October and lasts till January or latest till June

B.Design Application

The application process typically involves filling up an online application form, submitting relevant documents and paying the application fee.

The course curriculum typically covers various aspects of design such as graphic design, fashion design, product design, industrial design, etc.
