Musical texts are studied in the field of musicology, which examines the historical and cultural context of musical works, as well as their composition and performance. This includes analyzing musical form, harmony, and melody, as well as the social and cultural factors that influenced the creation and reception of the music.

Both literary and musical texts can also be studied from a comparative perspective, which examines how different works of literature or music are similar or different from each other. This can involve comparing works from different cultures or historical periods or examining how literature and music interact and influence each other.

The entire procedure for admission to the research programs encompasses a Research Entrance Exam (RET) and then an Interview/Viva Voce.
